I bet you’ve never heard anyone say the following sentence. If you have, I’m not sure anyone’s meant it. I myself can’t believe I’m about to earnestly write it, but come with me on this journey.

You might wanna sit down for this. Ready? Here goes:

This morning, I read something on LinkedIn and it made me rethink the way I approach my entire life.

Did you do a spit-take? Did you collapse under the unbearable weight of oppressive banality? Because I am cackling, too, but I’m also dead-ass serious.

I was just sipping an iced latte, doing my usual morning autonomic doomscroll, when I came across this post from a Xena C.

I must’ve read and reread it a dozen times, and each time, I felt my brain whir with epiphanies like it hasn’t in years.

It’s framed through a DEI lens, and while I won’t be touching much upon DEI for the rest of this essay, I wanted to be sure I linked the original before I summarize what I found so compelling and, in doing so, decontextualize the spirit of her message. In short:
