They're a loose collection of tribes championing the interests of their in-groups, setting up ideological purity tests no one can pass, yelling at each other over "who has it worse" and "who should be first in line to move up in the social hierarchy?"

If the global politik is a wildfire, their solution seems to be to cut down all the trees that haven't burned yet (because they're flammable!) and kill all the firefighters (because they didn't prevent it!), rather than develop a strategy to put it out.
