I've often said, "calling yourself an ally is like giving yourself a nickname."

I've never been a fan of hashtag-activism. Unless you're devoting a considerable amount of your time, talents and/or treasure, it's not enough. And, if you gotta tell someone that you're down with the cause, then you're not down enough with the cause.
