There was a column released by the Atlantic a few years back — I think it was called “Always Make Promises" or “Always Keep Promises” and they said something to the tune of the best way to get people to like you is just say you’re going to do something, and then do exactly that. And I really found that simple piece of advice to be freeing and beautiful.
