I believe you. Dominance is part-and-parcel to the American value system. And yet you’re not quite at the root — more like the lower-stem. What kind of beliefs cause patriarchy? That’s the altitude I’m trying to fly at. (I get that I’m sorta asking a question like “what caused The Big Bang?” Yet that’s where I need to go, because only by examining what causes patriarchy can the dismantling truly begin.)
