Fwiw Steve Martin's book "Cruel Shoes" has had an outside influence on my writing.

He is funny but he's not drop-dead hilarious funny. He's funny in the way "Frasier" and "Cheers" were. I get not getting his act, or even getting it and not liking it, he occupies a lane no one else does. I think he's good and his multitalentedness is admirable.
